My Journey to Becoming a PC Technician: A Dream Finally Realized

Celebrating a New Chapter
After almost a year of job searching in the IT field and trying to find the right job, I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve landed a position as a PC Technician 2 at the University of Las Vegas, Nevada! It feels surreal to finally have a chance to jump start my professional career in technology, and I couldn’t be more excited. I'm certainly gracious of working with a local tech company in town, however it was only temporary.
Finding a permanent job was my ultimate goal
The Roller coaster of Job Searching
The past year has been a challenging journey filled with highs and lows. Each application sent was a mix of hope and anxiety. I scoured job boards, tailored my resume, and polished my cover letters, all while keeping my fingers crossed. I faced numerous rejections, but I refused to give up. Every ‘no’ pushed me one step closer to the ‘yes’ that I’ve been waiting for.
The Moment of Truth
When the call came in, I couldn’t believe it at first. I was offered the job I had dreamed about! The joy and relief were overwhelming. This isn’t just a job; it’s a stepping stone towards my aspirations in the IT world. Being a PC technician means I’ll get to work on the tech I love, help others, and continuously learn in a dynamic environment.
Knowing that I’ll be part of a prestigious university's IT department makes this opportunity even more special. I have always admired the impact technology has on education, and now, I’ll have a chance to be a part of that process firsthand.
As I prepare to start this new chapter, I can’t help but reflect on the support I received along the way. Family, friends, and past mentors encouraged me to keep going during my search. I truly believe it takes a village, and I’m grateful for their unwavering belief in me.
In conclusion, if you’re also navigating the job market in IT or any field, don’t lose hope. Keep pushing forward and hone your skills; your hard work will pay off! My journey is proof that persistence leads to success!
